Zero Waste Event 2018

Mill Street's Executive Chef, Ian Vest, participated as a celebrity chef in the Zero Waste Dinner along with Debra Ponzek of Aux Delices, Christine Salazar of Happiness Is, and Paul Clarke form GCDS. The event took place on April 26, 2018 at St. Catherine Church to promote zero food waste and educate the attendees on sustainability. From cloth napkins, to the silverware, down to the food and beverages - every part of the dinner was reused, recycled, and repurposed afterwards. All proceeds from the event were donated to Kids in Crisis and Wholesome Wave out of Bridgeport.

Stepping into the Executive Chef role at Mill Street is Ian Vest, a young chef with quite the culinary pedigree. Last month Renato and I went to a special event at Mill Street Bar + Table in Greenwich, CT. This is one of our favorite spots and we were excited to see what they have going on. We met the new executive chef, tasted new menu items, and learned about new restaurant hours. That's a lot of new, but what hasn't changed is the passion for good food and good farming.
